… Christmas Cheer for the Needy …

2024 is fast drawing to a close with Christmas only a few weeks away.  High food costs and unemployment leave our poor community, who are already hard-pressed to make ends meet, in an extremely vulnerable position.

We will once again be distributing food hampers to the poor and vulnerable in Stanford – our Hampers of Love.  Your kindness and generosity in the past has been greatly appreciated and we’re hoping you are able to consider sponsoring some of these again this year.

Recipients are from our desperately underprivileged community who would normally make use of the various Soup Kitchens our Club supports, serving around 1,200 portions per week to the elderly, the sick and children.  The kitchen volunteers take a break over Christmas and New Year, which means no cooked meals will be available during that time.  The requirement this year will be between 250 and 280 hampers.

The cost per hamper is US$ 18.00 or GBP 14.00 or Euro 16.00.  Donations can be made into the Rotary Club of Stanford’s bank account, via PayPal.

The campaign is well organized and Hampers are distributed to those families who are in genuine need in Stanford.

Your kindness and generosity will be greatly appreciated and go a long way in helping a poor family enjoy their Christmas.  There is no greater gift than seeing a smile of gratitude on the face of a desperately poor child or elderly person, and we get plenty of those.

Yours most sincerely
