It is vital that children are dressed neatly for school.  It not only gives them a sense of pride but also prevents bullying (when they have clothes that are too small or tatty) which could lead to children not wanting to attend school.

At the start of each year Rotary provides a pair of trousers or skirt as well as a shirt for children whose clothes are in a poor state. The schools assist us with lists of those children.  In May we were in a position to provide warmer clothing such as jerseys, rain jackets, shoes and socks.

The need this year is much higher than in previous years assisting 85 children at Die Bron and 31 at St Paul’s rural school.

On the positive side, children come to school feeling smart and proud, wanting to be there and to learn.
